JOB OVERVIEW

The Janitorial Cleaning Support Staff Member is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the company’s event venues, office space, kitchens, restrooms and other indoor and outdoor areas associated with the company’s event operations. This position will report directly to the Facilities Director, but may also be supervised by the Operations Manager.

Primary Focus: Venue Cleaning

This employee is to maintain assigned spaces and surrounding areas in a clean, safe, and orderly manner to provide a clean and welcoming environment for our clients and staff.

Perform custodial services around the property/venue (hall, siderooms, restrooms, kitchens, parking lot and office spaces.

Tasks include sweeping interior and exterior areas, mopping, power washing, steam cleaning furniture, hand upright vacuuming carpets and floors, floor scrubber, restroom cleaning, kitchen cleaning, and bar cleaning. This includes window and glass cleaning, kitchen equipment deep cleaning of fixtures and appliances.

Replacing paper goods in restrooms - refilling paper towels, toilet paper dispensers.

Removing trash and properly disposing of it in trash disposal areas

Using appropriate cleaning products with the right tools

Completing regular cleaning schedule lists and tasks

Perform maintenance on custodial equipment as well as proper mixing of cleaning chemicals according to SOP’s and appropriate safety standards.

Secondary Focus: Facilities Assisting

Event set-ups include table, chair,and linen set-ups for events such as weddings, corporate, markets, dance events etc

Dishwashing and putting away dishes

Putting away event equipment

Assist other departments such as the warehouse loading and unloading events

GENERAL SKILLS

Strong work ethic and ability to vigorously clean a variety of different surfaces

Good understanding of cleaning products

Strong attention to detail

Problem solving

Able to complete all cleaning list tasks

Excellent attendance and punctuality is required

Availability to work weekends is required

Ability to drive

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE

The Janitorial Assistant position typically requires 1 to 2 years of professional cleaning experience in a corporate setting.

SCHEDULE

This is an hourly position with an expectation that a combination of Days, Nights, Weekends and Holidays will be required to meet varied operational needs. This is not a remote position and is fully in person.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to lift, stand or sit, stoop, bend, and/or reach, for prolonged periods is required

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

Job Type: Part-time, 20-25 Hours Per Week

Work Location: In person, San Diego 92101 and other locations in San Diego, as assigned

Salary: $18 to $20 per hour, depending on experience

Ability to Commute:

San Diego, CA 92101: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
