General Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced General Manager to manage the operations of our North Park bar. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a passion for hospitality and a demonstrated track record of providing exceptional customer experiences. The General Manager will have a strong presence on the floor, overseeing all operations within the establishment, and providing support to employees.

The General Manager is responsible for front-end and back-end management, directing and overseeing all bar/restaurant activities in accordance with policies to provide efficient, friendly services, and ensure profitable operations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and management to ensure the Company's mission and core values are put into practice.

Develop and maintain the food and drink menu; manage all food and drink costs, inventory, and labor to company Standards; ensure the menu remains profitable.

Maintain awareness and involvement with community events.

Ensure compliance with applicable health codes and regulations; perform daily inspections and periodic audits to check the safety of equipment and the building.

Supervise all staff members directly; carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Manage all front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) staff, provide assistance, training, and coaching when needed; ensure employees meet company standards and follow policies.

Conduct annual employee performance reviews; develop key performance goals and regularly manage the performance of all staff members.

Collaborate with human resources to execute any necessary performance issues and ensure performance improvement plans are tracked, accurate, and effective.

Monitor, investigate, and address all customer reviews.

Schedule and lead staff meetings to discuss operations, resolve issues, and gain feedback from staff members; lead weekly manager meetings to review upcoming tasks, report to and inform the executive team of problems and solutions.

Accomplish company human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, and monitoring.

Hire and terminate with approval/partnership from Human Resources.

Support the company business plan by surveying demand; conferring with people in the community and industry; identifying and evaluating competitors; analyzing financial, marketing, and sales projections and estimates.

Meet company financial goals; ensure all monies balance and manage all cash handling procedures.

Understand how to develop and implement business strategies through knowledge of company history, culture, identity, and goals.

Promote cooperative effort, a team spirit, and good morale among employees.

Build and maintain a strong relationship with the fire and sheriff departments and remain in communication with city officials.

Maintain patron satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food, beverage, and service offerings; initiating improvements; building relationships with preferred patrons.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience / Qualifications / Requirements:

Three years previous management experience within a bar

Strong leadership skills.

Excellent conflict resolution abilities.

Customer service attitude.

Communication and team management abilities.

Availability to work within opening hours (e.g., evenings, holidays, weekends).

Salary Range: $70,096 - $80,000/ annually
