Belgium Waffles USA is an authentic Belgium Waffle mobile food vendor or “food truck” based in San Diego, California since 2015. Our Waffles stem from an age old recipe from my grandmother who would always enchant the farmhouse whenever she made these for our family and friends. Following on her culinary footsteps, we ventured on to introduce the genuine Original Belgian Waffle to the North American market. Our focus is on high quality food, prepared fresh and with high regard for customer satisfaction. Job Description:
We are looking for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and remains positive during challenging situations happening in a small environment. A hard-working, dependable, and honest individual who will fit our team. The menu is easy to learn and we offer flexible hours. We serve customers all over San Diego County and work great events such as festivals, food truck gatherings, private and corporate events. An average number of hours range between 15 to 30 hours a week or more, depending on booked events.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Lifting up to 30 lbs., bending, stooping, kneeling and have mobility.
Cash management (operating a cash register and card exchange).
Be able to meet at designated meeting area, participate in event service and clean the truck in preparation for the next shift.
Ability to drive a 30 Ft. truck, fill gas into both tanks, and keep record of mileage and gas costs.
Help set up provisions on truck prior to the events;
Ability to take orders from customers and write down orders for team members.
At times, assist additional team members with preparing product for distribution.
Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
Educate customers about our menu items.
Work various shifts including nights and weekends.
Be able to work in varying weather and temperature conditions.
Follow sanitation procedures and food health and safety guidelines at all times.
Providing guests with information regarding our products.
Providing the best TOTAL experience in the business.
Assist with breaking down after events.
If you live near Market Street and the 805 Freeway near Moodys, that is a definite bonus.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience desired:
· Hold and maintain a Food Handler Certification or Manager Food Handler Certification.
· Able to develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all employees and work as part of a team by helping others as needed or requested.
· A sense of urgency when faced with changing customer volume levels.
· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
· Able to follow instructions for recipes, sanitation guidelines and food safety guidelines.
· Ability to work well under pressure.
· Individual must be a self-starter and able to self-direct.
· Able and willing to be cross trained on all other departments of the truck.

· Food Service experience preferred but not required

· Background check required
· Must have reliable transportation
