Job Type: Part-time

Reports To:Manager/Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Cashier/Server is responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing transactions accurately, and serving food and beverages to customers. This role involves multitasking between cashier duties and server responsibilities, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:

- Greet customers warmly as they enter the coffee shop.

- Assist customers in making menu choices by providing information about products.

- Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner.

2. Cash Handling:

- Operate cash registers and other point-of-sale equipment.

- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately.

- Ensure the cash drawer is balanced at the end of each shift.

3. Order Taking and Serving:

- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.

- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages according to customer specifications and coffee shop standards.

- Serve baked goods, sandwiches, and other menu items as required.

4. Maintenance and Cleanliness:

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front counter, dining area, and serving stations.

- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products and work areas.

- Replenish stock and supplies as needed.

5. Team Collaboration:

- Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.

- Assist in training new employees as needed.

- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment.

6. Additional Duties:

- Perform opening and closing duties as required.

- Assist in inventory management and restocking items.

- Participate in promotional activities and special events.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a coffee shop or restaurant setting.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.

- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand for extended periods.

- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

- Manual dexterity to handle coffee-making equipment and food items.
