Position overview:
As a Barista at Holsem Cafe, you will be the face of our brand- crafting beautiful coffee, creating an engaging experience for every guest, and contributing to a welcoming, high-energy environment. We're seeking someone with barista experience who thrives in a busy setting, is eager to grow, and loves sharing the joy of great coffee and good company.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet guests warmly, offer recommendations, and create personalized and memorable guest experiences
Prepare a variety of specialty coffee and espresso-based beverages with precision and care
Serve and maintain a curated menu of food items with attention to presentation and quality
Maintain an organized, clean, and well-stocked bar and café environment
Uphold Holsem's quality and hospitality standards through all stages of service
Contribute to daily café tasks such as restocking, dishwashing, cleaning, and inventory
Collaborate positively with your team to ensure smooth and efficient operations
Stay current on our seasonal offerings, preparation techniques, and sustainability efforts
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of barista experience in a café or coffee shop setting
Full-time availability (30 hours/week), including weekends and holidays
Strong hospitality instincts with a friendly and engaging demeanor
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Excellent communication and multitasking skills
Basic math and computer proficiency (POS systems)
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds as needed
California Food Handler's Certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a busy hospitality-focused environment
Enthusiasm for coffee education and sustainability
A collaborative, can-do attitude and a desire to grow within the team
