Qualcomm's Validation Team is part of the central SoC digital hardware organization responsible for the overall quality of the SoC silicon. The Validation team works closely with architects, designers, verification engineers, software engineers, and customerDepending on your technical area, you will be responsible for becoming a subject matter expert and go-to person for other members of your team. The environment is fast-paced and requires cross-functional interaction daily so good communication, planning and execution skills are a must. The candidate is to handle silicon and run regression tests in the lab. The individual in this role will be supporting the engineers in this department. Preferably, candidate should be open to working overtime, weekends depending on project needs and evening shifts occasionallyQualifications: Should be self-sufficient with minimal guidance with the following tasks:

Setup and debug issues with post-silicon hardware dev platforms including development boards, form-factor devices, connectivity and power supply equipment, and thermal units/chambers.

Running tests on automated test handlers and systems

Debugging system failures: Run post-silicon tests to isolate failures and discuss results and next steps with engineers.

Independently manage validation runs listed above and communication of results

Automating manual steps involved in validation flows

Setting up computer automation and efficient test procedures and flows.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Familiar with Windows PC’s, basic networking protocols, and networking hardware including IP power switches.

Preferred Qualification (these are a plus):

Prior experience supporting lab equipment such as racks, thermal units, scopes, test platforms and basic electrical & operational knowledge

Responsibilities

Set up test platforms and PC connections; Setup and debug issues with post-silicon hardware dev platforms including development boards, form-factor devices, connectivity and power supply equipment, and thermal units/chambers.

Run regression tests and debug experiments with limited guidance from engineers

Reconfigure HW of setup as per need, and triage user reported issues with setup

Serve as POC for a project to participate in planning, bring-up & post-bring-up activities for specific high volume validation commitments

Manage one or a set of handlers for its operation for targeted use-case

Work with PMs to get list of equipment to order & follow up on orders/ETAs

Manage inventory of parts and tools

Work with engineers and SOC bring-up team to assess existing inventory and place and follow up on new orders.

Support lab service requests from engineer teams with no or minimum guidance from engineers

Assist to troubleshoot faulty electrical and mechanical systems pertaining to handlers and their inputs.

Assist to prepare new robotic pick-and-place handlers for use by test and debug engineers.

Assist to install changeover kits for different projects (thermal equipment, handlers)

Support IT & lab maintenance activities

Ensure lab cleanliness, safety, and organization.

Automate & verify volume validation & stress testing methodology effort on lab initiatives.

The candidate’s responsibility is to handle post-silicon testing, characterization, and regression in the lab. The individual in this role will be supporting the engineers in this department. The candidate will also be responsible for handling QCOM post-silicon hardware platforms, installing boards, running, and debugging diagnostics software. Candidate should be open to working overtime and weekends.Additional Notes: Flexibility in work hours beyond core shift hours based on project planning Occasional (short) driving around campus, no more than 5 hours per week Candidates may be required to use personal vehicle for transporting Hardware over short distances between campus buildings. Lifting/handling lab HW up to 20lbs for lab needsEducation: High school. Technical certifications/Associate degree in computer hardware and software and/or mechanical field with 5 years relevant experience.
