JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for the proper decontamination, assembly, packaging and sterilization of instruments and equipment for RCHSD, in addition to maintaining the proper supply chain inventories for the Surgical Services Department. Minimizes the operating expenses for the patient and facility without compromising the quality of patient care. Follows established RCHSD Sterile Processing policies and procedures based on the ANSI/AAMI Standards ST79. Ability to take care of patients or patient equipment in the area in which you work, including the ability to handle patients with an airborne-transmitted disease. Must be able to comply with infection control standards that may evolve over time.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent (Minimum)2 years of experienceCertified Central Service Technician (CRST) or Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS)2 years of experience in a Sterile Processing Tech II positionComputer skillsDemonstrates ability to work proficiently and independently in all areas of SPDMust be able to demonstrate both competency and the ability to train others in all areas of Sterile Processing, including: decontamination, processing, use of all equipment, trouble shooting, and high level disinfectionPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's DegreeCertified Sterile Processing Management (CSPM)Experience in Supply Chain Management5 years pediatric-specific experienceThe expected hiring range for this position is $24.26 to $33.36Rady Children’s Hospital is committed to compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable.
