Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in San Diego, California. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity in the travel industry. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be entrusted with month-end bookkeeping, reconciling various transactions, managing inter-company transactions, and assisting with loan amortization schedules. Knowledge of Quickbooks is required for this role.Responsibilities: Conduct regular month-end bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Investigate and reconcile various transactions that have been incorrectly tracked. Handle related party transactions, particularly those involving inter-company dealings. Assist with loan amortization schedules, providing necessary updates and adjustments. Utilize Quickbooks for various accounting tasks and functions. Maintain accurate records of all accounting activities and transactions. Address accounting-related inquiries and provide necessary information and support. Monitor and manage customer accounts, ensuring they are up-to-date and accurate. Process customer credit applications, ensuring they are accurate and processed in a timely manner. Maintain accurate customer credit records, updating them as necessary. Requirements Must possess at least 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required Demonstrated experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries management is necessary Competency in Microsoft Excel for financial data analysis and reporting is needed Prior experience with Month End Close procedures is a must Proficiency in using QuickBooks for financial tasks and reporting is crucial Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment is required Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for reporting and team collaboration A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) are preferred Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, to meet shared goals and deadlines Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses are needed.
