This employment opportunity is being recruited by Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego on behalf of Children's Specialists of San Diego.JOB SUMMARY:This position is accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician. Functions independently in a staff position, implementing the role of expert practitioner, consultant, educator, and researcher within a specialized area of patient care. Performs within the scope of licensures and in accordance with hospital policies. Some positions will be responsible for being on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed, pursuant to hospital needs. Also responsible for on-call duties.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s DegreeCompletion of a Physician Assistant ProgramCurrent California Physician Assistant licenseCurrent BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHAFurnishing number, State of California (w/in 1 year of employment)DEA license for positions that require the writing of scheduled medications (within 1 year of employment)Medicare Billing number (NPI-National Provider Identifier) (Must obtain within 6 months of employment)Certification: Physician Assistant, National Commission (w/in 1 year of employment)Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff ServicesSuccessfully complete the requirements of the delegations of Services for the assigned divisionPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s DegreeTwo years of clinical nursing experience with emphasis in specialty areaExperience in specialty area as a Physician AssistantFormal in-service education and/or lecturing skillsBilingualThe expected hiring range for this position is $31.60 to $84.29Children’s Specialists of San Diego is committed to compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable.
