Phlebotomist - Medical Assistant - Hemophilia Treatment

We are looking for an experienced Phlebotomist- Medical Assistant to join our Hemophilia team. This position includes working with patients for check-in, drawing labs, and booking appointments. This position also includes back office patient tracking, data entry and comprehensive clinic coordination. You would be working with closely with two RNs, one for bleeding disorders and the other for clotting disorders.JOB SUMMARY:The Medical Laboratory Assistant/Medical Assistant is responsible for a variety of specimen collections on children, both inpatients and outpatients, specimen processing, referral test analysis, preparation and shipping, registration and lab test order entry, hospital/departmental computer procedures, Microbiology specimen processing and departmental instrument maintenance. Under the direct supervision of an RN/licensed practitioner, the assistants (MA, PCA, and C.N.A) are responsible for providing and documenting nursing care for patients and associated tasks as delegated by the RN/licensed practitioner. It is the role of these assistant employees to partner with RN/licensed practitioner and other team members to provide optimal patient care. These employees follow through with care as directed utilizing established policies, procedures and guidelines.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:H.S. Diploma, GED, or Equivalent1 year of experienceCalifornia Licensure Phlebotomy Technician with at least 1 year of Phlebotomy experienceA Medical Assistant (MA) graduate with at least 6 months of Medical Assistant experience, or CurrentCalifornia Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with at least 6 months of healthcare experienceCurrent BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHABilingual - Spanish (Hematology/Oncology only)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Associate's Degree2 Years of ExperienceBilingual - SpanishThe current salary range for this position is $22.63 to $33.60A candidate’s placement in the range will be determined based on the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
