Company:Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.Job Area:Engineering Services Group, Engineering Services Group > Engineering TechnicianGeneral Summary: Member of the Packaging Lab team, providing hands on support for mechanical characterization of advanced IC packages and modules. Thequalified candidate will be responsible for operating a variety of test equipment, including thermal cycle chambers, mechanical shock testers,and data acquisition.Responsible for operation and maintenance of test equipment such as environmental chambers, drop testers, vibration tables,data acquisition systems, etc. Soldering and general assembly of PCBs, cabling and harnesses for connection to data acquisition systems. Install instrumentation for mechanical characterization, such as acclerometers, force transducers and strain gages. Sample preparation for physical failure analysis, including fine grinding and polishing of IC packages.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequently transports between floors, offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile. Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 25 lbs. Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).
