This is a full time position with day shifts located at Scripps Clinic Jefferson in Oceanside. Shift is 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. The Ophthalmology/Optometry team at Scripps Clinic Jefferson is a tight-knit, established and knowledgeable group of individuals who support each other in career development and training.The Ophthalmic Tech is responsible for:· Performing patient assessments and technical skills to accurately assess the ophthalmic status of each patient, including emergency procedures and medication administration as appropriate.· Educates patients and documents patient interactions.· Practices infection control· Contributes to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care. · Additional responsibilities include: managing technician schedules, supply and medication ordering and inventory.Required Qualifications:
Current BLS card for Healthcare Professional from American Heart Association (AHA)
Additional requirements vary according to specialty and duties performed in business unit
Preferred Qualification:
One year experience in optometry and in ophthalmology
Ophthalmic Technician Certificate preferred
Completion of a certified Ophthalmic Technical program preferred
Ability to scribe
Epic experience
