Job Title: Manufacturing AssociateJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Associate to join our dynamic team. This role involves media preparation, buffer preparation, operating fermenters, analyzing samples, and performing data analysis. The ideal candidate will follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and be comfortable working on process development tasks where procedures may not be fully defined. This is an excellent opportunity to gain cross-training experience in the purification department and work with a passionate team in a leading life sciences company.Responsibilities
Prepare media and buffers according to SOPs.
Operate and maintain fermenters, including those larger than 10L bioreactors.
Analyze samples and perform data analysis to ensure quality control.
Clean and dispose of waste materials following safety protocols.
Engage in process development and understand the mechanics and purpose of fermenters.
Conduct reagent preparation and follow protocols diligently.
Handle scale-up processes and manage larger scale reactors.
Cross-train in the purification department as needed.
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience with fermentation, buffer preparation, and media preparation.
Proficiency in operating bioreactors and fermenters.
Ability to analyze data and understand fermentation processes.
Experience working with larger scale reactors, preferably over 10L.
Strong adherence to SOPs and safety protocols.
Capability to work independently and without direct supervision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
3-5 years of relevant experience, with a possibility of considering candidates with 2 years of very hands-on experience.
Grade 4: Capable of being trained to run processes independently.
Experience with old school equipment and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.
Willingness to cross-train and learn new skills in the purification department.
Work EnvironmentThe work schedule is from 8am to 4:30pm, with some flexibility and potential for occasional overtime. The team comprises one manufacturing associate, a sr. scientist, a sr. staff engineer, and the new hire. This is a newer group within the manufacturing area, which means there are many opportunities for development and innovation. The team is laid back, supportive, and driven by a passion for their work.
