JOB SUMMARY:The Lead, Preschool Teacher [or Early Childhood Education (ECE) Coordinator] is responsible for daily operations and program management of the Rady Children's Toddler and Preschool Inclusion Center, an inclusion program providing early care and education to typically developing children, and intervention services to children at-risk for, or diagnosed with, an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The Lead, Preschool Teacher (or ECE Coordinator) is responsible for compliance with all community care licensing requirements; staff scheduling; classroom oversight; and quality control. The Lead, Preschool Teacher (or ECE Coordinator) is also responsible for ensuring that all parent, child, and staff concerns are appropriately addressed. Additionally, the ECE is responsible for identifying staff training needs and training staff in appropriate early childhood education concepts. Ensures that lesson plans, teaching aids, and classrooms are all age and developmentally appropriate. Is responsible for working in coordination with the Board Certified Behavior Analyst to ensure activities and curricula are appropriate for both typically developing children and children with ASD who are enrolled in the program.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field3 years teaching experience in an early childhood settingMust meet director requirements for Child Care Licensing1 year training teachersBLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA)First Aid CertificateHealth & Safety CertificatePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master's Degree4 years teaching experience in an early childhood setting (18 months to 5 years)1 year previous child care center director experience1 year experience training teachers in early childhood education conceptsCompetency with Child Abuse reporting proceduresExperience with inclusion programs for children with special needsThe current salary range for this position is $26.74 to $36.78Rady Children’s Hospital is committed to compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable.
