SUMMARY

Hi Tech Honeycomb seeks a Janitor to perform cleaning duties including but not limited to, facility restrooms, eating areas, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuum carpets, clean walls and glass, and removing trash. Duties may include performing routine maintenance activities around the property/parking lot. Also assist production employees doing minor repairs or supplying them with some requested materials under maintenance control, ensuring that all mechanical systems at both buildings are performing in a satisfactory manner notifying management of need for repairs, and supplies, including continuous improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ensuring general cleanliness of building, equipment, and furnishings.

Use daily, weekly, and monthly janitorial schedules to ensure a clean, professional presentation of building property, furnishings, and work areas.

Ensure organization of janitorial room, storing, organizing and maintaining resources and stock levels as required, providing updates to supervisor as needed.

Conduct routine maintenance as requested for circumstantial needs, including regular duties for non-daily required tasks and duties.

Report any worn equipment to department supervisor for replacement or conditioning; supporting departmental needs as required.

Identify critical parts, report them to department supervisor and manager to order replacements, and ensure low or no downtime exposure, setting priorities and completing paperwork and work orders as needed.

Support duties, including good housekeeping, safety, and general organization.

Other duties include cleaning restrooms and surrounding areas, sweeping, mopping floors, disinfecting tables, chairs, counters, dishes. Clean and organize all meal areas regularly to prevent infestations, maintaining recycle receptacles, trash bins, lunch/ break areas, replenish rest room toilet paper and hand towel dispenser rolls, soap dispensers, and other duties as assigned.

Cleans, maintains and repairs building fixtures and equipment.

Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include painting, bathroom fixtures replacement, door repairs and other building fixtures

Respond to repair requests quickly and with a professional manner.

Communicate to Maintenance Supervisor about any work that requires outside expert assistance

Work with tools and supplies necessary to complete projects, making sure to store all tools and materials.

Maintain organization of maintenance storage rooms, organizing and keeping up maintenance hardware, tools and stock levels as required, utilizing inventory logs.

Report any worn parts to department supervisor for replacement/conditioning, supporting departmental needs as required.

Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions if requested.

Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges as need it.

Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment if necessary as need it.

Other duties include moving furniture, minor landscaping, painting, light electrical work, ballast replacement, and/or ceiling lights and/or tiles. This may require the use of a company vehicle, forklift, scissor lift, ladders, or other equipment to accomplish tasks.

Must be available for weekend work as needed, reporting to work as scheduled.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A clean DMV record may be required for this position.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

1-3 years of related experience and/or training; experience in a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Basic reading skills to understand warnings or instructions for cleaning materials. Basic knowledge of hand tools use and minor electrical repairs. English proficiency to read and speak. Ability to do basic math for measurements of area, volume, and quantity

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out at least simple one-step or two-step instructions; Ability to deal with standardized situations with rare occasional variables. Ability to diagnose and repair minor mechanical/electrical troubles.
