Healthcare Authorization Specialist I - MPF Central Authorizations

JOB SUMMARY:Under general supervision, the Healthcare Authorization Specialist is responsible for ensuring that insurance benefits are verified, patient responsibility estimates are calculated and communicated to the patient and/or family, and authorization is secured timely for all assigned service types. Performs other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:H.S Diploma, GED, or Equivalent1 Year of Healthcare Authorization Experience or 2 years of Experience in Healthcare Revenue CyclePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's DegreeExperience with Epic or other EMR SystemsBilingual English/Spanish and/or other languages that meet business needs of the departmentThe expected hiring range for this position is $20.96 to $28.81Rady Children’s Hospital is committed to compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable.
