We are looking for someone with drive, talent, and interest in Printed Circuit Board (PCB), Cable, and Harness design who also thrives in a fast-paced, Research and Development (R&D) environment. The successful candidate will report to the Electrical-Mechanical Integration Design Team Manager and, alongside high-caliber staff, will be engaged in the engineering support and new development of GA-EMS technologies and products, including High Energy Laser (HEL) Systems, specialized power conditioning systems, advanced electro-optic sensors, space-based optical communication systems, cutting-edge technology ventures into “New Space,” and a variety of other technologies in the expanding product portfolio of GA-EMS.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with GA-EMS Electrical Engineering staff in the concept development and prototype design, integration, and test of printed circuit boards, electrical cables, and wire harnesses.

Demonstrate interest and capability in the improvement of legacy systems and development of new systems.

Support electrical engineering solutions for project needs, perform electrical engineering analyses for systems and circuits, document findings, communicate results, and make technical presentations to project staff.

Contribute to electrical engineering efforts as directed by project leaders.

Apply basic technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned routine engineering problems under general supervision and with on-going review.

Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.

Ability to obtain a Security Clearance is required.

Desirable Experience: Electrical cable design; basic systems-level diagramming; circuit board design; packaging and integration of electrical systems.

Desired Skills (ranked high to low): Experience with cable and harness design software, PCB design software, Solidworks 3D CAD, and Solidworks Electrical for harness design, MS Visio, MS Excel.

Demonstrates the ability to follow and apply basic engineering knowledge, adapt standard techniques, and utilize the required diagnostics, tools, and equipment.

Must be able to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.

Must possess good communication, computer, and interpersonal skills to enable an effective interface with other professionals, produce appropriate documentation, and present results to a limited internal audience.

Must be able to work both independently and on a team.

Must be able to work extended hours as required.
