CoreCivic is currently seeking Registered Nurses who have a passion for providing the highest quality care in an institutional setting.The successful applicant should be able to perform ALL of

the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the

actual job performance requirements.Administer medication to inmates/residents under the direct

supervision of the Health Service Administrator.Obtain, monitor, record and report vital signs and patient's

condition as needed.Prepare patients for physical exams, procedures and treatments.Assist nurses/physician with physical exams, procedures and

treatments.Assist nurse with control and inventory of sharps, medical

supplies and equipment as required by established policies.Assist nurse with preparing and maintaining a variety of reports

and logs, to include filing, alphabetizing and labeling.Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly; utilize

appropriate sanitation methods.Assist medical personnel with retrieving/filing medical records.Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical

records.Assist with the inspection of the medical unit for items that

could be used as contraband by inmates/residents; securely store supplies and

equipment or ensure their safe disposal.Assist in performing CPR, when needed.Facilitate, where applicable, NCCHC/ACA/JCAHO accreditation of

the medical program by providing the required level of organizational efficiency

and approved, appropriate medical services.Escort inmates/residents or

coordinate the movement of inmates/residents to and from different areas for

medical treatment.Reliably and repetitively

identify inmates/residents by visual means.Engage in functions in confined areas that

include such things as working rotating shifts and physically checking the

doors, windows and other areas to verify they are secure.Be aware that verbal abuse may

be present with the hostile views and opinions of inmates/residents and others

encountered in an antagonistic environment.Take appropriate action to prevent or diffuse potentially disruptive situations.Inspect unclothed inmates/residents with

possible exposure to body fluids, wastes and possible encounter with deceased

or contagious persons.Endeavor to comply with the requirements of applicable

regulations, laws, rules, procedures, policies, standards and/or contract.Inspect the medical unit for items that could be used as

contraband by inmate/residents; securely store or safely dispose of supplies

and equipment.Establish and maintain effective working

relations with others and handle difficult interpersonal contacts.Attend scheduled staff

meetings, promote communications and the proper flow of relevant information in

the medical unit.Add, subtract, multiply and divide using

whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; apply concepts such as fractions,

percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.Review, process and respond (via corporate counsel) to lawsuits;

attend court hearings, when necessary.Interpret an extensive variety of medical

and technical instructions in the form of handwritten text, correspondence,

policies, regulations, procedures, reports, directions for forms completion and

other simple or complex documents.Communicate effectively and

coherently to administration, staff, inmates/residents, visitors and the

general public, particularly in situations requiring tact, diplomacy,

understanding, fairness, firmness and good judgment.Operate a vehicle during both the day and

night where driving conditions can include congested traffic and unsafe road

conditions caused by factors such as fog, rain, ice and snow.Remain alert at all times and

react quickly, efficiently and calmly in emergency and other high stress

situations.QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent orgreater.

Must possess a currentcertification from an approved formal nursing assistant program or equivalentprogram with written consent from corporate Director, Health Services and beCPR certified.

Must possess appropriatecertification or licensing in the state where practice occurs.

Avalid driver's license is required.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
