Description We are looking for a diligent Bookkeeper to join our team in the non-profit sector, based in San Diego, California. This role will provide key support to our finance manager, primarily focusing on accounts payable and receivable. The Bookkeeper will work in a remote setting, with occasional requirements to visit the office. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Support the finance manager with account reconciliation tasks Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable operations Use QuickBooks for various accounting tasks Carry out data entry tasks as required Use Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting Ensure all financial data is up to date and entered correctly Respond to financial inquiries from stakeholders Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in a bookkeeping role within the non-profit sector Proficiency in bookkeeping software, preferably QuickBooks Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting Experience with account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial documents Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management Demonstrated ability to perform data entry tasks with high attention to detail Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Knowledge of non-profit financial regulations and standards is a plus.
