Join our team of inspiring, eco-minded art educators!
EcoArts Kids is a nature-inspired after-school enrichment program that combines visual art, creativity, and environmental education for elementary and middle school-aged children. We're looking for passionate, experienced educators to lead our hands-on art classes in Escondido Schools.
As a Lead Art Teacher, you will independently manage after-school classes with up to 25 students, guiding students through nature-based art lessons and collaborating with a Teaching Assistant.
How the Program Works
- Classes run afternoons M - Th (2:00–4:30pm) Exact times may vary
- Art classes last 1–2.5 hours, plus paid prep and cleanup time
- Each session runs for 10 weeks, with renewal opportunity
- Teachers work at 2 schools per session
- You must transport your own art bin (provided) to sites
- Paid lesson prep time up to 2 hours/week
- Commitment to the full 10 week term is required
Classes include art journaling, main projects, group reflection, and environmental themes. Lead teachers are responsible for instruction, student engagement, classroom management, and transporting and organizing art supplies provided by EcoArts Kids. During each session, students participate in a showcase to celebrate their artwork, build confidence, and share their creative journey with families and peers.

Credential Requirements (including Certification and/or Education Requirements):
- Minimum 2 years classroom or youth program teaching experience required.
- Formal credential not required, but background in education or art is a plus.
- Must be passionate about sustainability, nature, and the creative process.
