North county growing CPA firm is seeking a Senior Audit Associate to join our team.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in planning and conducting financial audits.

- Review and analyze financial statements and related documents.

- Conduct fieldwork, including examining financial records and supporting documentation.

- Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures to verify financial information.

- Evaluate internal controls and identify potential areas of risk.

- Document audit findings and prepare detailed workpapers.

- Assist in preparing financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with GAAP.

- Maintain regular communication with clients to gather information and discuss audit issues.

- Address client inquiries and resolve audit-related issues promptly.

- Participate in continuing education.

- Seek opportunities to enhance auditing skills and knowledge.

- Stay informed about industry trends and developments.

Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- CPA or CPA candidate preferred.

- Minimum 3 years of recent experience at a public accounting firm performing audit procedures and preparing workpapers.

- Experience with CCH Engagement, preferred.

- Working knowledge of Non-Profit, Single Audit, ERISA and Employee Benefit Plan audits, preferred.

- Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment, as necessary.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

- Proficiency with QuickBooks (desktop and online)

- Familiarity with general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.

- Ability to analyze complex financial data accurately.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for financial report writing.

- Strong time management and organizational skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.
