Boutique Accounting Firm in Cardiff-by-the-Sea is searching for an experienced Accounting/Payroll Specialist to round out our wonderful team as our company continues to grow.
Our ideal candidate would have a BS in Accounting, strong computer skills, advanced Excel skills with experience in QuickBooks Desktop, QBOL and Sage50 (Peachtree) accounting software. Experience in analyzing accounting databases and identifying/correcting errors. Minimum 5 years experience in full charge accounting and payroll.
Must be well versed in preparing sales tax returns, processing payroll, preparing federal/state payroll tax returns and resolving tax issues with the IRS, EDD, CDTFA and other tax agencies.
Our company provides exceptional, personalized accounting services to a diversified client base. Our services range from weekly/monthly accounting and custom financial reporting to setting up new accounting systems, software consulting, forensic and multiple-year reconstructive accounting projects.
We provide an extremely comfortable, friendly work environment, located one block from beautiful downtown Cardiff.
Duties may include the following:
Setting up new company databases and customizing Chart of Accounts
Financial Statement Reviews and Analysis
Detailed General Ledger Reviews/Identifying Problems
Creating Journal Entries/Analyzing and Correcting Journal Entries
Financial Statement Preparation
Bank Reconciliations
Credit Card Reconciliations
Ability to Identify and Correct Reconciliation Errors
Create and Maintain Complex Excel Spreadsheets/V-Looks ups, Etc.
Accounts Payable/Bill Payments/Vendor Analysis and Reconciliations
Manual and On-Line Payroll Processing
Payroll Analysis/Ability to Identify and Correct Payroll Errors
Preparation of 941s, 940s, DE9s, DE9Cs, W2s
Sales Tax Analysis and Preparation of Sales Tax Returns
Preparation of 1099s
Compensation:
$35.00-45.00 per hour to start based on experience. Part-Time to Full-Time, Flexible Hours. This position could progress to permanent full time for the right candidate.
