Description Well-established construction company in San Carlos, CA is seeking a highly organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have experience working in accounts payable, with a preference for candidates who are familiar with ProContractor software (though not required). Invoice Processing: Review, code, and process a high volume of vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
Payment Processing: Prepare and execute payments to vendors, including check runs and ACH transactions, while maintaining thorough records of all payment activity.
Vendor Communication: Maintain positive relationships with vendors, handling inquiries and resolving discrepancies related to invoices, payments, and account balances.
Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable reports with the general ledger and assist with month-end closing procedures.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that all transactions comply with company policies and accounting standards. Maintain accurate records of transactions and file invoices appropriately.
Software Management: Use ProContractor (or similar accounting software) for data entry, reporting, and maintaining financial records. If you're not familiar with ProContractor, we are happy to train you.
Collaboration: Work closely with the accounting team and project managers to ensure the accurate coding of job costs and allocation of expenses.
Ad-hoc Reporting: Assist in generating accounts payable reports and provide additional support as needed during audits or special projects.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Experience: At least 2-3 years of accounts payable experience; experience in the construction industry is a plus.
Software Experience: Familiarity with ProContractor software is preferred, but not required. Proficiency with other accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems) is a plus.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in accounting or related field is a plus.
