Visit https://www.dignityhealth.org/socal/locations/stbernardinemedical for more information.ResponsibilitiesThe Phlebotomy Technician is responsible for performing venipuncture, heelstick, and fingerstick procedures to collect blood specimens for laboratory testing across all age groups, including neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.Key Responsibilities:

Conduct blood specimen collection using venipuncture, heelstick, and fingerstick techniques.

Ensure proper handling, labeling, and transportation of specimens for accurate laboratory testing.

Demonstrate professionalism and compassion while interacting with patients of all age groups.

Uphold the Mission and Core Values of St. Bernardine Medical Center in all aspects of patient care.

Actively contribute to the hospital’s strategic plan and support quality improvement initiatives.

This position requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional care and service. The Phlebotomy Technician plays a critical role in supporting the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities and overall mission to improve patient outcomes.Qualifications

One year acute hospital experience or equivalent with at least 6 months pediatric/infant/neonate experience will be given preference.

Must be 18 years of age or older

Computer skills desirable.

Current certification as a Phlebotomy Technician I in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 3 Division 2 of the California Business and Professions Code and Title 17 of the state of California

Current BLS for HealthCare Providers.
