Visit https://www.dignityhealth.org/socal/locations/san-bernardino for more information.ResponsibilitiesThe Patient Registration Specialist plays a key role in ensuring a positive patient experience by providing friendly coordination and advocacy during reception, registration, and other non-clinical interactions throughout the patient’s stay. This role involves assisting with patient identification, collecting demographic information, offering financial counseling, cashiering, and advocating for governmental programs. The specialist anticipates and addresses the non-clinical needs of patients and their families, ensuring a seamless and supportive experience.Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate a positive patient experience through effective reception, registration, and advocacy efforts.

Assist with accurate patient identification and demographic data collection.

Provide financial counseling and cashiering services while advocating for governmental program enrollment.

Address non-clinical needs of patients and families with professionalism and empathy.

Uphold the Mission and Core Values of Community Hospital of San Bernardino and actively contribute to its strategic goals and quality improvement initiatives.

This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered service.Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Two (2) years current hospital or medical office experience is required.

Completion of Insurance Training and Office of Inspector General (OIG) Training is required.

Must pass five (5) minute data entry test of 370 keystrokes(max 16% error rate).

Medical terminology and basic knowledge of computer usage is required.

Knowledge of managed care Medical Medicare laws government programs and requirements.

Ability to interpret various types of insurance policies contract & capitation processes advocacy for government programs.

Ability to work in close collaboration with other departments.
