Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Specialist in the manufacturing industry, based in Salinas, California. The successful individual will be responsible for leading the local daily accounts receivable process and working with other teams to resolve any discrepancies. The role involves handling both internal and external communications regarding payable discrepancies and accounts receivable items. Responsibilities: Lead the local daily accounts receivable process for recovering or assigning charges for unpaid/partially paid invoices. Collaborate with corporate accounting teams to resolve any corrections, discrepancies, adjustments, etc. Handle the local daily freight payable process, as needed. Communicate with Internal Logistics team and external Logistics vendors regarding payable discrepancies. Engage with customers and sales team on accounts receivable items. Support Sales personnel with the creation of invoice adjustments. Assist the Claims and Collections Manager in resolving daily A/R issues and challenges. Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. Maintain accurate customer credit records. Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments. Use accounting software systems such as Great Plains (GPAC), IBM AS/400, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suites to perform accounting functions, manage accounts receivable (AR), and perform billing functions and check processing. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry Proficiency in accounting software systems Proficiency in Great Plains (GPAC) Experience with IBM AS/400 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites Strong understanding of accounting functions Experience in accounts receivable (AR) Experience in billing functions Experience with cash activity management Experience in check processing Ability to work independently and within a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
