The Senior Estate Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company and related entities. This includes developing and ensuring the execution of business strategies to 1) drive Wine Club acquisitions and Tasting Room consumer traffic, 2) to deepen consumer/member relationships and engagement, 3) to drive the estate in desired wholesale channels and 4) to effectively manage costs across the portfolio (margins, A&P, OH, etc.). All of these strategies should be in support of long-term equity and estate vision (10-year horizon) and financial returns. The Senior Estate Manager is the public figurehead of the Estate, and represents the estate with distributors, operators, and consumers. The Senior Estate Manager manages the daily operation of the tasting room, Consumer Experience, digital marketing, and brand team. This includes leading efforts to support the identification, development, and implementation of the Estate’s long-term vision. The Estate Manager is also responsible for identifying and leading the development of brand capability building, optimizing business models, path to-market, and ways of working to elevate brand equity and improve financial return. The Senior Estate Manager is accountable for maintaining the Estate’s brand partnerships, representing the brand in market, and through wholesale channels. What You Will Do: Team Leadership:

Monitors the workings of various departments across the brand, including delegating accountabilities; monitoring performance and implementing improvements, as needed; and overseeing the quality and quantity of employee productivity.

Develops and fosters an estate culture that inspires, motivates, and drives comradery among tasting room and consumer experience team.

Oversees the overall operations of the estate, which include business operations, consumer experience, wine production, tasting room, and member services teams.

Identifies and obtains staff capabilities needed to accomplish objectives.

Develops a successful vision/strategy, through strong leadership skills.

Build high impact, talented, balanced teams among consumer experience.

Builds relationships with peers to collaborate across the portfolio.

Collaborates within the estate and cross functionally to create and execute promotions, events, and consumer communications including newsletters, shipment collateral, email campaigns and website content.

BU/Estate Leadership:

The Estate SR Manger functions as the Commercial General Manager of the Estate; they are the business owner and key decision maker for the Estate.

The Estate SR Manager owns and delivers portfolio P&L, 10-yr. vision, 3YP, AOP for their estate.

Accountable for estate plans and oversees business/marketing activities.

Oversees leaders of DTC Tasting Room and Consumer Experience Representatives, providing guidance on the execution of strategic business development plans.

Uses knowledge of the market and competitors, identify, and develop the Estate’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Oversees and accountable for performance measurement and results across the brand.

Maintains a deep understanding of current and desired consumer and how to enhance relationships across all go-to-market channels.

Owns the commercial operating metrics across all channels and provides insight and solutions to BU on progress (on/off track) – e.g., distribution, visitation, member base, etc.

Provides thought leadership on how the Estate is represented internally, with distributors, with trade, and with consumers.

Owned and Operated Strategy and Business Planning:

Accountable for financial planning and yearly goal setting for the Estate.

Responsible for working with Estate leadership team on goal setting and execution.

Accountable for DTC A&P planning, tracking and measurement for initiatives to meet business goals.

Leads and prioritizes owned and operated planning and execution through cross functionals (web, CRM, social, paid media) and/or outside partners.

Responsible for prioritizing, briefing and approving creative against owned and operated campaigns

Follows brand guidelines to ensure owned and operated campaigns are aligned with Brand image.

Identifies content needs for owned and operated and collaborates with Estate brand partners to execute

Approves owned channel opportunities to include website content, online product merchandizing, special promotions and web tracking analysis working with cross functionals and/or outside vendors.

Approves potential promotion recommendations from partners based on data collected from eCommerce sites and consumer database.

Provides leadership, direction and information championing a positive work environment.

Responsible for understanding and complying with all applicable quality, environments and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

What You Wil Need:

Master’s degree plus 6 years of marketing, winemaking, operations, restaurant management, direct to consumer sales, communications, finance, new product development, engineering, or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of marketing, winemaking, operations, restaurant management, direct to consumer sales, communications, finance, new product development, engineering, or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of Gallo brand marketing or hospitality experience to include experience in the Luxury BU reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 14 years of marketing, winemaking, operations, restaurant management, direct to consumer sales, communications, finance, new product development, engineering, or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

3 years of supervisory or managerial experience

Experience working with wholesale marketing.

Required to be 21 years of age or older.

Required to see, smell and taste wine as part of job duties.

Experience with Luxury consumers in marketing or sales.

Experience effectively presenting information to top management, public groups and boards of directors.

Required to spend 25% of time traveling in-market, apart from BU driven meetings.

Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart:

Master of Business Administration degree plus 12 years of Gallo brand marketing or hospitality experience to include Luxury BU experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

5 years of supervisory or managerial experience.

Multiple Gallo marketing rotations.

Brand Marketing experience.

Tasting Room/Club acquisition Leadership Experience.

Skilled in reading, analyzing and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.

Experience performing work that is complex and varied in nature, requiring frequent evaluation, originality or ingenuity.

Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and MS database at an intermediate level; IRI, Brio and Spectra at a basic level.

Experience responding effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.

Compensation:

Hiring Salary Range Posted: $143,500 - $215,300 plus 10% performance bonus

Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
