Salary: $32.30-$38.20 per hour

Incumbent eligible for a $500 signing bonus payable after 6 months of continuous service

Position Overview: The Can & Bottle Maintenance Mechanic installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe, electrical and hydraulic systems in industrial establishment.

Language Skills: English proficiency required. Spanish is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Amount of Travel Involved: None.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Follow all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times.

Perform basic metal fabrication using hand tools, lathe and end mill.

Repair bearings, belt sprockets, chains and gearboxes.

Repair compressed air systems.

Repair conveyor controls and devices.

Perform conveyor lubrication and inspection, downline and fill room lubrication.

Repair and inspect hydraulic powered equipment.

Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures when necessary.

Conduct oil room storage cleaning and maintenance.

Install and repair PVC, copper, stainless and steel pipe systems.

Troubleshoot and repair pumps and valves.

Ability to weld, ARC and MIG (TIG desirable).

Assist Lube Tech and other Maintenance Mechanics in the performance of their duties.

General

Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, coworkers, and management.

All other duties as assigned.

Regular and punctual attendance.

Keep tools and work area clean and sanitary.

Work scheduled shift, weekends, and extended hours as required.

Maintain and repair recycling area balers.

Repair and adjust bottle line dud detector “canalyzer” and waterfall cap sorter.

Repair and adjust empty container bulk unloading system.

Maintain bulk sweetener silo system.

Maintain and repair product cooler chlorine injection systems.

Repair and maintain conveyors (Accumulation Tables, Airveyor, empty package, full case, full product, mass full product, Ryson Spiral).

Maintain and repair hot temperature short time (HTST) processes for can and bottle process operations.

Maintain, adjust, and repair empty container bulk depalletizers.

Repair, set up and maintain Douglas Case Packer automatic lane divider.

Maintain bottle labeling equipment including hot and cold glue modules.

Maintain and repair case packers (Douglas Contour).

Repair and maintain Bottle Line Lowerator/Rinser and Headspace sterilizer.

Maintain, repair, and adjust bottle line drying and sleeve type labeler.

Repair and maintain package coolers.

Repair and maintain waste water treatment system.

Repair and maintain automated overhead shrink wrap machines.

Start up, maintain, and repair air dryers.

Repair and maintain Blend Room equipment (Blenzer Ratio Blenders, Starblend and associated equipment).

Maintain, adjust, and repair plastic and metal cappers .

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair product and case coders (Markem, Sato, and Videojet Coder).

Set up, maintain, and repair graphics packager (GPI-2100 Wrap Around Packer).

Set up, maintain, and repair Hi-Cone case packer.

Repair and maintain labelers (Fuji Sleever and Sacmi).

Maintain and repair Nitrogen Injection systems.

Repair roll up doors and yard gates.

Maintain and repair Tea Brew system.

Boiler system operation maintenance.

Repair CO2 Receiver.

Maintain and repair Can &Bottle Clean in Place (CIP) systems.

Troubleshoot single/three phase and low voltage electrical.

Change over, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fillers (Crown Rotary, Solbern Cascade, US Bottler).

Maintain and repair can level sensors and dud detectors (Filtec FT 50).

Repair Nitrogen Receivers.

Repair Pallet Inverter

Operate and repair NH3 Refrigeration System.

Change over, adjust, set up, maintain and repair can line seamers (Angelus 120).

Operate and maintain Treated Water Reverse Osmosis (RO) System.

Maintain UV system.

Adjust and repair Siligan Vision System.

Adjust and repair Inspx X-Ray System.

Perform basic electrical installation.

Troubleshoot, program, and install variable frequency drive (VFD).

Strong ability to work unsupervised.

Assist with training Maintenance Mechanics.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or G.E.D. required.

Two or more years of related experience in can or bottle production and/or training required.

Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
