Program Description: This is a rewarding position helping older adults and those with disabilities live safely at home. The employee will work alone or in a team to install accessibility items such as grab bars in showers, aluminum wheelchair ramps, modified home steps and railings. The employee may also perform light or moderate home repair tasks at homes involved in our Rebuild event projects.

Responsibilities: This employee will schedule appointments, coordinate supplies, perform installations, deliver items, complete paperwork, and other duties as assigned.

Employment Information: This position is an hourly and classified as non-exempt. This employee will work 24 hours per week during business hours. The schedule will be determined between the employee and Supervisor. Employment may transition to full-time in the future depending on funding and work load.

Compensation: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour (depending on experience) and mileage reimbursement at the IRS approved rate. Mileage and hours are calculated from the RTS office. The employee will need to drive their own vehicle until a work vehicle becomes available. The employee must provide a copy of the driver’s license and auto insurance information.

Benefits Package: Sick leave, vacation accrual and retirement contributions. Additionally, 12 paid holidays are provided each year as well as the employee’s birthday and additional paid time off during each December. Health and Dental insurance are not provided for Part Time employees.

Qualifications:

● Strong “handyman/handywoman” or minor repair skills

● Comfort working in under-served neighborhoods with older adults and people with disabilities

● Skilled with basic computer applications and email

● Must have proven history of dependability, strong organizational and time management skills

● Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing and proof of auto insurance

● Must have reliable vehicle

● Must pass background check prior to first day of employment (Background check will not be performed until after employment offer is extended)
