Electrician - Local work and Travel - Prevailing Wage

Company information: We are a fast-growing construction company that specializes in government projects in California.

Description of role: We are looking for an experienced Electrician who is a skilled person responsible for the installation of electrical for power and lighting. Ensures that work is in accordance with relevant codes. The role is crucial to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and institutional environments. This person must have a solid background in the field. You must be well organized and favor safety above everything else. Must be local but willing to travel.

Tasks:

● Installation of electrical systems for power and lighting

● Inspecting electrical systems to ensure they are safe and meet electrical codes and regulations

● Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken wires and cables.

● Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors.

● Trace circuits and test the continuity of electrical circuits for installed equipment using appropriate tools of the trade, as-built drawings, and visual inspection to ensure safe installations. Safely troubleshoot circuits when problems are encountered.

● Operate a variety of hand and power tools.

● Observe safety standards and regulations.

● Monitor expenditures and ensure that the project remains on budget.

● Ability to communicate recommendations and services

● Read, understand, and work from design drawings, sketches, construction documents, and building codes, with or without direct supervision. Plan and layout projects; order materials. Inspect the final work for compliance.

● Assist with project close-out via red-line drawings.

● Perform SSHO and/or environmental duties as applicable.

● Resolve problems when they arise.

● Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Job requirements:

● Commercial Electrical: minimum of 10 years (Required)

● Multi-Trade Construction: 4-6 years (Required)

● Federal/IDIQ/ Military Construction: 2 years (Preferred)

● In-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines, equipment, and construction procedures

● Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications

● Skills in locating and correcting defects in electrical systems, components, and equipment

● Ability to communicate and report effectively

● Ability to adhere to safety regulations, policies, and procedures per company (OSHA and EM-385) requirements

License/Certification:

● California Electrical License Certification

● OSHA 30 (must have within 30 days of starting work) (Required)

● Real ID Driver's License (Required)

Education:

● High school or GED equivalent (Preferred)

● Completed related studies program (preferred, not required)

Skills/Qualifications:

● Demonstrated knowledge of the construction industry (relevant codes, safety regulations, etc.)

● Knowledge of local environmental regulations

● Multi-tasking and meeting deadlines

● Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy

● Ability to perform and communicate in a team environment with co-workers, supervisors, and clients.

● Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical individuals

● Ability to learn through observation and hands-on experience

● Ability to gather data, compile information, and make reports

● Ability to work and make decisions with minimal supervision

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to $110,000 per year

Schedule: Monday to Thursday

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

● Main work location will be an active construction site, which may include;

● Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, climb, or crawl

● Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

● Moderate exposure to physical risk

● Working outdoors with exposure to uneven ground, dust, and extreme heat or cold

● Working around moving machinery

● Occasionally lifting 50–75 lbs

● Wearing PPE

● Secondary work locations may include an office situation with the possibility of repetitive motion consistent with computer work

● Sitting for extended periods of time
