Title: Senior Program Coordinator (Seniors & Distributions)

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Senior Program Coordinator (Seniors & Distributions) oversees all direct PFB distributions that serve seniors in our community. They both facilitate the day-to-day operation of these distributions and evaluate, improve, innovate, and plan for the program’s future. Their time will be split between administrative tasks and food handling/packing with volunteers at the warehouse and overseeing food distributions in the field. The Program Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Programs staff to manage all components of the deliverables, communication, scheduling, and record-keeping for the distributions. They will work with the Operations staff to ensure the distributions run smoothly in the field.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Program Maintenance
Coordinate, schedule, and oversee day-to-day program sites that serve seniors in our community. This may include:
Serving as lead at all distribution sites and point of contact for neighbors, staff, and volunteers.
Training and supervising volunteers packing product in the warehouse and at distribution sites.
Managing correspondence with volunteers and sites about program schedule
Driving PFB vehicles to distributions 2-4 times per week throughout our service area
Working with operations staff to ensure product inventory is maintained and tracked.
Creating collateral in Canva about available resources to share at events.
Support CalFresh and Outreach staff at events and target seniors for CF enrollment
Ensure compliance with PFB, Feeding America, and food safety regulations at all distribution locations.
Accurately and efficiently complete all reporting for distributions, supervise data entry volunteers.
Planning and Innovation
Create neighbor feedback surveys, oversee survey distribution, assess survey results, identify program gaps and issues, and work with team to identify solutions.
Collaborate with food sourcing and data staff to identify and better support senior-specific dietary needs.
Cultivate partnerships with regional health care providers to integrate their skills and resources into senior programs.
Expand community partnerships with other organizations and agencies currently working with the senior community to strengthen the greater regional support network.
Create innovative opportunities to improve, grow, and streamline senior programs.
Maintain community involvement with senior specific groups and organizations as appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Valid California driver’s license, clean DMV record, and proof of automobile insurance.
Minimum of two years experience in non-profit work, preferably community organizing and outreach, volunteer coordination, or program development
Awareness of diverse lived experiences and the desire to work in community with people of different
nationalities, ethnic origins, and socioeconomic levels is essential.
Fluency in written and spoken English, bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
Honesty, integrity, and commitment to addressing root causes of food insecurity in California.
Must have clear understanding of and ability to articulate the mission of PFB.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills
Proactive approach to problem solving with strong decision-making skills.
Self-starter who successfully manages multiple priorities and works independently in timely and organized manner.
Previous experience using volunteer management CRM or other CRM database preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, preferably also with Canva or Adobe Illustrator for flyer creation
Effective communicator, who asks questions, and offers and welcomes feedback to foster team and individual growth.
Ability to pivot and be flexible with changing conditions and variables that impact daily tasks and operations.
Compelling public speaker, comfortable training and leading groups of volunteers and serving as the face of the food bank at distributions and events.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 30 pounds. At times, this position will require working in a non-air-conditioned warehouse environment. This position does require the ability to perform under stressful conditions and high-volume demands.
