Responsibilities:
Operating and maintaining our printing press with a maximum sheet size of 40 inches.
-Setting up the press according to job specifications, such as ink color, type of paper, and print quality.
-Load and align sheets of paper onto the press, adjust ink flow and alignment, and run test samples to ensure proper print quality.
During production, you will monitor the press for any issues such as paper jams, ink smudges, or misalignment and troubleshoot/fix these problems to minimize downtime and ensure efficient printing.
Additionally, you will maintain the press by cleaning and lubricating it regularly. Additionally, you will also perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing worn-out parts, adjusting rollers, and calibrating color settings.
The 40" pressman works closely with other members of the print production team, including pre-press operators, bindery workers and other crew members to meet production deadlines and ensure the final product meets customer specifications.
Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills are essential for this role. The pressman should also have a good understanding of color printing processes, safety protocols, and quality control standards in the printing industry.
