JOB SUMMARY: Operation of CNC machinery with the ability to (1) set-up lathe and mill machines, (2) knowledge of basic programming, (3) load materials into machine, and (4) conduction of quality inspections on materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned.)
Read and interpret blueprints and related technical data.
Set-up Lathe machines by downloading programs and setup of three jaw and collet chucks.
Sets zero/reference points and tool offsets, and tool radius compensation through calculating requirements and
proving part programs.
Performs specific work order tasks in accordance with manufacturing plan and priority structure communicated by
Supervisors and CNC Leads.
Maintains specification by observing tool-life, part measurements, and troubleshooting CNC Machine
Malfunctions.
Conducts quality inspection on materials for defects before and after machining.
BASIC SKILLS:
Able to perform basic math (addition and subtraction).
Able to problem solve and/or trouble shoot situational challenges.
Able to interpret oral and documented instruction.
Reasonable communication and presentation skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Able to lift 75 pounds.
Able to stand and walk for 2–3-hour intervals.
Able to work in an environment with a moderate to loud noise level.
Periodic exposure to outside weather conditions.
Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and machinery.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
Valid driver’s license required.
2-3 Years of machine related experience
Training in general safety.
Forklift Operator Certification preferred but not required.
