PTAB is an organization that inspects processing tomatoes for defects and lab results after the tomatoes are harvested and before they are processed in the canneries. Inspection begins early to mid-July and runs through October, and proceeds 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Inspectors would be assigned to work either day shift or night shift, typically 4 or 5 days a week. But, the hours and days can vary. In addition to a paid two-hour Orientation class, there will also be a one-hour paid online training session.
