Project Overview:
We are seeking an experienced professional or crew to prepare, pour, and finish a concrete pad for the installation of two USPS-approved Cluster Box Units (CBUs) at our property.
Work must strictly comply with all official USPS and manufacturer (Florence Model 1570 series) specifications and be suitable for USPS inspection - Including ADA accessibility
Project Details:
· Concrete Pad Size: Minimum 4’ x 7’ (48” x 84”), 8” thick recommended (4” minimum), per USPS requirements for 2 units.
· Sub-base: Prepare site, excavate as needed, and compact soil. If local soil conditions require, install a compacted gravel base.
· Reinforcement: Use wire mesh or fiber-reinforced concrete, and install steel rods (#4 rebar) on 14” centers each way, as specified.
· Concrete Strength: Use 3000 psi concrete at 28 days, with 4%–6% air entrainment and 3.5–4.5” slump at placement.
· Slope: Pad must slope 0.25” per foot in all directions for drainage, match existing grade as needed.
· Surface Finish: Provide broom finish for traction, chamfer pad edges in landscape areas, and tool flush where adjacent to pavement.
· Anchor Bolts: Accurately drill and install four (4) 1/2” diameter stainless steel expansion anchor bolts for each mailbox using the template provided by owner, conforming to one of these types:
o Hilti Kwik Bolt II, 1/2" x 5-1/2" (minimum 3-1/2” embedment)
o ITW Ramset Redhead Trubolt, 1/2" x 7" (minimum 4-1/8” embedment)
o Rawl Stud, 1/2" x 5-1/2" (minimum 4” embedment)
· ADA Accessibility: The pad and mailbox locations must have at least 36” of clear space in front for wheelchair access, and must not block any sidewalks or pedestrian paths.
· Location: The exact position of the pad must be approved onsite by the project owner and USPS before pouring.
Additional Work:
· Place rubber pads (provided) beneath each mailbox pedestal.
· Clean up all work debris after pad cure.
· Optionally, if you are experienced, you may also assemble/install the CBUs after pad cure (please mention in your reply if you can provide this service).
