Solar Apprentice Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Solar Apprentice to join our solar team. In this entry-level position, you will work alongside experienced solar technicians and installers to learn the skills required to install, maintain, and repair solar energy systems. This apprenticeship provides hands-on training and a pathway to a rewarding career in the renewable energy industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist experienced solar technicians and installers with the installation and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Learn to use and maintain tools and equipment safely and effectively.

Support the layout, assembly, and mounting of solar panels and associated equipment.

Help with electrical wiring and connections following safety protocols and local regulations.

Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance of solar systems under supervision.

Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.

Participate in training sessions to develop a comprehensive understanding of solar energy systems, tools, and techniques.

Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Organize and inventory the warehouse, ensuring all materials are accurately labeled, and maintain a clean and well-organized space.

Skills and Qualifications:

A strong interest in renewable energy and solar technology.

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or coursework in electrical or renewable energy systems is a plus.

Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

Basic understanding of electrical or mechanical systems (preferred but not required).

Good physical fitness and ability to work in various outdoor conditions, including at heights and on rooftops.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

Willingness to work in confined spaces like attics and crawl spaces.
