Our Company

Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates is a luxury chocolate boutique in Sacramento. It is a family-owned business which has been operating for 16 years and has become a cornerstone of midtown Sacramento. Our chocolates are inspired by local California farms and all the wonderful ingredients grown around us, and our product line includes cookies, chocolates, macarons, hot chocolates, confections, and more.

We are hiring a full-time Production Pastry Cook/Baker for our commercial kitchen in West Sacramento. Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic, positive, hardworking, and dependable. Our kitchen is fast-paced, upbeat, and professional. This is a full-time position from Tuesday - Saturday, and shifts will generally be scheduled between 5 AM and 3 PM.

Job Description

Scaling recipes and executing precisely according to directions

Completing production projects such as caramels, batters, doughs, buttercreams, cookies, marshmallows, cakes, brownies, and other confections

Upholding our established standards of excellence

Understanding the importance of efficiency, accuracy, cleanliness and speed while completing projects

Learning techniques specifically needed for Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates

Job Requirements

At least one year of professional baking and/or pastry experience is required. Piping experience is a plus

Basic math and measuring skills

Certificate or degree from a culinary arts training program is desirable but not required

Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with teammates in English

Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 8 hours in length

Must have the ability to lift pots, pans, etc. up to 50 pounds in weight

Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions

Must be able to use a commercial rotating oven, commercial stand mixer, measuring tools, scales, baking pans, carts and racks.
