Be a part of northern California’s largest honey and mead tasting room - The HIVE. Z Specialty Food, a family owned and operated honey company, seeks a Kitchen Line Cook as part of The HIVE Tasting Room & Kitchen Team. This is a Part-Time position with the possibility to increase hours as we grow. This position includes weekends, occasional weekday and evening shifts and reports to the Executive Chef.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare ingredients for the daily menu, including washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing vegetables and fruits.
· Measure and prepare ingredients according to recipes and kitchen standards.
· Assist with the preparation of sauces, dressings, and other pre-cooked items.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
· Ensure that all food items are properly stored and labeled.
· Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
· Assist chefs and cooks with various tasks as needed, including plating dishes and assembling ingredients.
· Monitor and report inventory levels of ingredients and supplies.
· Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, grinders, and slicers safely and efficiently.
· Assist in the preparation and setup for special events and catering services.
· Dispose of waste and trash in a timely and sanitary manner.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef.
Z Specialty Food, founded in 1979, is home to Island of the Moon and Moon Shine Trading Company. The HIVE, a 20,000 square foot net zero energy facility, is Z Specialty Food’s newest addition that showcases more than 30 varietal honeys, craft meads and a farm to fork menu.
