Cafe Elk Grove is a vibrant quick-serve cafe located in the heart of the Civic Center at District 56 in Elk Grove. We proudly serve a rotating menu of coffee, specialty drinks, soups, salads, sandwiches, and snacks. With a focus on fresh ingredients, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere, we're excited to expand our team!
We are hiring immediately for the following two positions:
1. Cafe Assistant (Front of House) – Starting at $17.50/hour
Responsibilities:
Greet and serve customers with a friendly and professional attitude
Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently
Prepare sandwiches, salads, and drinks to cafe standards
Keep the front-of-house clean and organized (wipe tables, wash dishes, sanitize surfaces)
Assist with daily opening and closing duties
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth cafe operations
Qualifications:
Previous food service or customer service experience preferred, but not required
Strong communication and multitasking skills
Positive attitude and reliable work ethic
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be available Monday through Friday and some weekends and evenings
Must be able to pass a Live Scan background check
2. Cafe Quick Serve Assistant Cook (Back of House) – Starting at $22/hour
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook hot and cold food items including soups, breakfast, and lunch menu items
Follow food safety procedures and ensure quality control on all menu items
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
Assist with prep work and kitchen stocking as needed
Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service flow
Qualifications:
Must have previous kitchen cook experience (preferably in a cafe or quick-serve environment)
Must possess a valid ServSafe certification
Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards
Ability to work efficiently in a kitchen
Must be available Monday through Friday and some weekends and evenings
Must be able to pass a Live Scan background check
