Organization:SHSO-Sutter Health System Office-ValleyPosition Overview:The Vice President, Consumer Health is a highly visible, system-level position with accountability to lead, direct and execute Sutter Health’s operational Consumer Health strategy, encompassing the vision for Consumer Health offerings. The role will partner to develop the strategic growth, capital, launch, marketing, recruitment, and staffing plans for all Consumer Health offerings system wide and determine effective strategic, financial, and geographic allocation of consumer health services across the System. The role oversees the management and operations of the Consumer Health portfolio. The incumbent will work collaboratively to create new offerings for our patients as well as optimize, spread, and scale existing services. The VP, Consumer Health also ensures Consumer health services are provided to patients with a consistently high level of safety, quality, and cost effectiveness. Experience of Care will be a top priority for all offerings in the Consumer Health division with focus on both the physical and digital experience. The incumbent will ensure teams across the Sutter footprint work in a collaborative manner with other departments to improve services, meet consumers’ needs and meet system goals. They will lead initiatives that integrate services across the continuum, including the identification and investigation of opportunities for improvement as well as best practice sharing to promote consistent high-quality patient care services. The Vice President will lead all culture and people initiatives. They will ensure the active engagement of their teams, staff and leadership development, communication, and training to enhance team-based care skills including but not limited to communication training, huddle techniques, transitions and hand-offs management, risk mitigation, safety culture constructs, transparency, etc. This position plays a key role in facilitating communication to the senior leadership team and operational leadership teams and local site CEOs. The incumbent will cultivate and support positive relationships with operational and physician leaders across the system. The VP works closely with nursing and physician leadership to develop an integrated model for clinical and operational aspects of the consumer business line. In addition, this individual is a member of the System Leadership Team and is expected to be exemplary in demonstrating Sutter Health’s vision, values and leadership behaviors and expectations. The Vice President, Consumer Health is responsible and accountable for leading the team to meet all financial, budgetary, productivity and cost reduction strategies. The role will drive clinical integration and variation reduction across the enterprise inclusive of process, staffing and supply standardization. The incumbent is responsible for establishing measures of success, analytics and achieving system goals.Job Description :The person selected for this role must come on site for work and live within a commutable distance to either the Sacramento or Emeryville office.We cannot accept out of state or out of area candidates for this role.EDUCATION:Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diplomaMaster'sTYPICAL EXPERIENCE:18 years recent relevant experienceSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Demonstrates clinical proficiency and knowledge to effectively plan and coordinate patient care consistent with applicable standards and regulations.Understanding of clinical operations and workflows, and how operational process/workflow impacts other department operations.Working knowledge and thorough understanding of health care laws, licensing and accreditation requirements, and clinical standards of practice with the ability to interpret and implement applicable requirements to ensure operational compliance.Knowledge of emerging treads and regulatory changes, and how it impacts operations.Business acumen, demonstrating ability to establish goals and standards to meet long and short- term objectives and make sound business decisions.Demonstrates credible leadership presence with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness and authority; and the ability to engage others.Demonstrates familiarity with various methods of care delivery and quality improvement concepts.Demonstrated progressive management ability in providing administrative direction to innovative programs within the healthcare field. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled.
