Job DescriptionWork with a world class team to provide enterprise-wide, Oracle Database Administration support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database design, database generation, coding, and database production support. Provide DBA support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. Provide accurate and creative solutions to user problems of moderate nature to ensure user productivity.As an Oracle Database Administrator Guru, work with leading edge technology - providing leadership and expertise for researching, evaluating, designing, testing, recommending, and planning implementation of new versions of Oracle database and database tools. May act as a team lead during database implementations and for system operation and maintenance.Acknowledged authority within the Corporation. Provides leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Proven successful experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with multiple distributed relational DBSM's or a depth and focus in Oracle and related tools. Experience with an organization with a key 24 X 7 reliance on its database is desirable. The successful candidate will use their hands-on operational experience to handle day to day database operational needs, address complex performance issues, resolve database and grid outage / instability, Design and develop scalable Golden Gate installations, Disaster Recovery environments, handle complex cloud outages and instabilities, design and implement the automation solution to improve the operational efficiencies on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and on legacy data centersThe role requires, Advance database knowledge (Performance Tuning, Backup, Restore, Recovery, Disaster Recovery, RAC, Grid, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, Data Pump) , Good experience with Golden Gate micro services, Solid understanding and experience on Exadata, experience with cloud computing (preferably OCI ATP, OCI Exadata, OCI VM DBaaS, LB, OSS) , Capacity Planning, Complex performance review and tuning (OS, Database) ,Experience with Linux operational support, Experience on cloud infrastructure automation with Ansible, Salt, Terraform, Python. Additional skills with networking and services running on cloud platforms will be beneficial. The role’s focus will combine operational support, performance handling and automated solutions for infrastructure and services by leveraging their DEVOPS / DBA skills.You will deliver the solutions that directly contribute to our esteem customer’s success. Other duties include researching, proofing OCI cloud services, their features for improving operations and authoring technical documentation that are beneficial to the company and the team.What will you doUtilize a deep understanding of service topology and the dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations.
Handle Complex Performance issues (database and non-database), Complex Outages and Instability In cloud, Trouble shoot Grid / ASM failures
Role is not limited to database and infrastructure, understating of the application interaction with Database and product, and troubleshoot application issues
Backup, Restore and recover databases
Design and Develop Golden Gate installations
Design and Develop Disaster Recovery
Work on Deep SQL Optimization, database parameter optimization
Use your experience and wisdom from building & running systems and infrastructures as a multiplier to drive operational improvements to support our customers infrastructure.
Optimize Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for maximum performance, scalability and reliability.
Serve as part of a 24x7 customer SaaS support team.
Identify problems and/or opportunities for customer cloud infrastructure support.
Use your excellent written & oral communication skills to communicate our customers effectively.
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
Mandatory Qualifications10+ years of experience in Database Administrator
5+ years of experience in compute, network, storage troubleshooting for improving capacity, reliability, scalability, availability working as a site reliability engineer
5+ years of experience to manage and lead the complex performance, SQL, environment optimization and stability projects on cloud scale
5+ years of experience to manage Exadata systems
Experience working with Oracle ATP databases
2+ years of experience with Golden Gate Microservices, Golden Gate Cloud Services
4+ years of experience with Enterprise level monitoring systems
Solid Experience on Grid / ASM outage handling, Database outage handling, RMAN, Datagaurd, RAC
1+ years of experience on Oracle OCI
Proficient in cloud infrastructure technologies and automation.
System Administration including Linux / windows internals, TCP/IP, DNS, Load balancing technologies. Installing and configuring application / database servers.
Infrastructure automation through Terraform, Ansible, Salt
Experience with Cloud Orchestration frameworks, development and SRE support of these systems
Experience working with fault tolerant, highly available, high throughput, distributed, scalable production systems.
Experience in a 24×7 high-availability production environment
Ability to come with best solution by capturing big picture instead of focusing on minor details and root cause analysis.
Aptitude to be a good team player and the desire to learn and implement new Cloud technologies.
4+ years of experience with developing and supporting Linux scripts
Additional Qualifications1+ years of experience with Prometheus related monitoring experience
2+ years of experience with Application Admin support
2+ years of experience with Python code development / Support
Experience with other Cloud offerings
Certifications Preferred if anyCloud Certifications - OCI Certified Professional Preferred
Cloud Certifications - OCI Certified Associate Preferred
Database Administrator Certification in past 5 years
OS Certifications - OEL certified, RHCE certified Preferred
Security Certifications - Cloud security certs Preferred
Education (Preferred Degree)M.S / B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related areas is preferred
