Work weeks generally extend from Monday through Thursday in Willits. On-Call employees may work concurrent projects outside of their ICF assignment (along as their outside work does not create a conflict of interest with the work, they do for ICF).What You Will Do

Conduct vegetation cover monitoring surveys in sampling quadrats along established line transects.

Conduct line-intercept monitoring for riparian planting areas

Conduct plant survival monitoring for riparian and wetland planting areas.

Maintain close communication with project manager and co-workers.

Work alone or in groups; may direct the work of individuals in the field.

Walk on uneven terrain in a variety of plant communities and landforms.

Basic Qualifications

BS in Botany, Biology, or Ecology

3+ years of experience conducting botanical surveys.

Must have a valid driver’s license and successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.

Additional Skills/Experience

MS in Botany, Biology, or Ecology

California Rapid Assessment Method (CRAM) trained.

Knowledge of special-status plant species and wetland guidance and regulations

Strong knowledge of California flora and taxonomy

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, including ability to identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions.

Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to be flexible to handle multiple priorities and to work limited overtime, as necessary.

Familiarity with GPS mapping technology

Experience using dichotomous keys.

Experience managing or leading staff in biological or wetland projects.

Able to apply federal, state, and local agency guidelines to identify plant specimens, vegetation communities, and wetland types.
