Department Description Within IT Infrastructure, the Technology Services team provides system architecture/planning, design, build, and system administration services for the following enterprise technologies servicing UC Davis Health: Servers, storage, virtualization, Cloud, database administration, directory services, business resiliency and disaster recovery. Responsible for solution design and engineering within established technology framework and providing current and future-facing technical leadership in support of UC Davis Health Cloud initiatives, with a focus on integrating and deploying systems and services that run on the following platforms: Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud technologies and on-prem technologies including Microsoft products, VMWare products, storage and networking technologies. THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities This role requires a solid understanding of industry best-practices associated tools and techniques for designing for and supporting Public Cloud environments with preference for MS Azure and AWS. The Architect will function as a resource and technical expert for public cloud technologies and will require advanced knowledge in that space. This role reports to the Solutions Design Supervisor within Technology Services, to provide architectural leadership and best practices. Additionally, this position will be responsible for ensuring that critical implementations are designed and optimized for running within health system IT technical standards. Required Qualifications Applicants are encouraged to upload license and certification required of the position. Minimum 10 years experience as a systems administrator/engineer for at least two of the following areas: Public Cloud, Windows/UNIX server platforms, virtualization, enterprise storage systems, database management systems, directory services, Private Cloud, automation, and business continuity / disaster recovery.

Minimum 5 years experience in a systems design and/or architecture role, including new technology.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or related area, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Preferred Qualifications Microsoft Azure certifications Architecture, equivalent AWS certifications

Relevant industry certifications such for Microsoft technologies, Citrix, VMware, Nutanix, Storage systems

Demonstrated skills and experience associated with x86 infrastructure, Storage systems, Network connectivity, Authentication, AWS, Azure, or Google based Cloud architectures and migration techniques.

Understands and can articulate the technical merits and value of Cloud computing.

Special Requirements This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
