Shasta Wood Products, Inc., is a cabinet and millwork company catering to custom builders, designers, and architects. Our reputation for quality work has contributed to our success in the commercial industry and exclusive custom home market for almost 40 years. Our business is located in Northern California near Redding in Shasta County. We are currently seeking a Draftsperson to become a key member of our team: an experienced, motivated employee to interact with contractors, designers, and architects on large commercial and high-end residential projects. Will provide shop drawings and ready to build designs using AutoCAD and Cabinet Vision. Wage and bonuses will be commensurate with experience, ability and performance. Reimbursement of relocation expenses to be considered with completed 90-day probation and confirmed references.
Experience and Qualifications:
Strong verbal and written skills are required.
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, technical specifications, and scope sheets.
Practical experience in woodworking and cabinet design is a plus.
Knowledge of ADA and AWI rules, restrictions, and requirements is helpful.
Drafting and layout of cabinet projects preferred.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and expertise in Cabinet Vision/S2M is preferred.
Understanding of basic MS Code or similar.
AA Degree preferred but equivalent working experience to be considered.
Examples of Duties:
Prepare takeoffs from architectural plans for millwork and casework.
Interact and problem solve with contractor/architect/designer.
Confirm measurements.
Produce working set of shop drawings.
Program CNC machine and work closely with CNC operator, production manager, and Shop Foreman to convey job information.
Must have excellent attendance, be punctual and able to work 40-hours a week with occasional OT.
