Somadome is a global wellness company that offers innovative technology-enabled meditation pods. With over 200 locations across 18 countries and 6 continents, Somadome provides a safe and tranquil space for individuals to access profound mental, spiritual, and physical benefits. Using LED color and light therapy, binaural beat meditation, and magnetic therapy, Somadome enables users to enhance creativity, improve focus, reduce anxiety and depression, and achieve better sleep patterns.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Director of Operations at Somadome. The Director of Operations will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing teams, analyzing data, budgeting, and ensuring exceptional customer service. While the role is primarily located in Sacramento, CA, remote work is acceptable for some tasks.

At the moment, Somadome is outsourcing manufacturing of the physical product, but we are managing production of our own electronics and controller boards. Electronics integration and final QC is being done by our manufacturing partner, an American company with production in China.

We are also warehousing all domes stateside and shipping direct.

We handle all logistics, shipping coordination, setup and installation support (most done virtually; some white glove), after support as well as marketing and ongoing account management.

We will never be able to shift our necessary focus to the UX or scale our market entry and production if we continue to operate as a capital goods company.

We need help building out the infrastructure inside the company to be able to:

- develop clearer channels to market through vertical distribution partners with whom we already have relationships well developed; we just need to broker and manage at scale (EXOS: corporate, Universal and Arch: hospitality, Core: fitness)

- we also have a large network of individuals across the world who want to be 'ambassadors' we think activating and organizing will yield organic growth

- we need to build out our account management and ongoing 'success' relationship system so domes are held over time and successful

Regarding our current operations and partnership with our manufacturing partner, we need oversight to further outsource to them:

- production of our controller boards so they can manage supply chain: sourcing of all electronics components as well as their integration

- ongoing QC of entire product

- packaging (currently in one large crate whereas it needs to be in smaller / easier to ship boxes)

- direct shipping to our end customers (ideally through their logistics arm)

- installation and servicing support

- supply chain oversight

We are already in negotiations with them, but we do not have anyone in house who is experienced in scaling - ideally a product and not only a service

We need this operations lead also to help guide our process in how we should best set up our systems for market entry at scale around

- our other sales channels and efforts

- split of commission structures and margins around to all stakeholders

- and just overall at large to set up the internal systems it will take Somadome to scale our operations across the board

Ideally we are hoping to find someone with some level of experience setting up the systems to scale a physical product with ideally an electronics component and software interface of some form. Given the landscape of smart equipment today, it could be with appliances to cars to anything like that these days; but we desperately need an advisor to come into the company and help us evaluate our systems and processes and set up the right ones to be able to scale at a much faster and more efficient pace.

To date, our business model has been as a one-time product play.

Our goal now - is to shift to a software and service focus, to achieve a recurring revenue model connected to our end users through our app through their purchasing of both session use and premium features.

To do so, we need to reconfigure our systems and operations.

Qualifications

Strong operations management and analytical skills

Experience managing supply chain for a physical product not only a service

Ideally one with hardware / software integrations

with complicated logistics in global markets across very diverse industries

Experience in team management and budgeting

Ability to provide exceptional customer service

Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities

Effective communication and leadership skills

Knowledge of wellness industry and trends

Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field

Experience in the meditation or wellness industry is a plus
