About us
We are a boutique consulting and tax firm. We work with clients weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually advising them regarding their business, personal and estate and trust needs, cash flow, wealth accumulation, tax and strategic planning, acting as board members, preparing financial statements, assisting with mergers and acquisitions, assisting with startups, general consulting, etc. In addition to our year round full time business, we also do compliance tax work annually (ie gather information, analyze, strategize and prepare tax returns) for approximately 600 individual clients which equates to just under 1000 tax returns prepared for these individuals and their affiliated trusts, estates, corporations, partnerships, LLC’s and the like. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will work on a variety of tax returns. Critical thinking and a thorough understanding of accounting and tax processes is a must. You will be challenged, rewarded, and inspired.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare and review income tax returns for S-Corps, C-Corps, Partnerships, LLC’s, Trusts, and Individuals
Conduct tax research, respond to tax notices
Self-manage and prioritize tax assignments
Participate in client engagement by providing corporate, partnership and individual tax services; research potential tax issues
Prepare adjusting journal entries, tax projections and analysis of general ledger; prepare general ledger entries and appropriate reconciliations for month-end, quarterly and year-end closing for clients
Build relationship with existing clients
Enter time daily to ensure current and accurate tracking of hours
Initial review support on simple tax returns prepared by staff level team members
Prepare, compile, and review financial statements
Work closely with partners and staff on client management, practice development, and business development activities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
3+ years of experience in Public Accounting (preferred)
Active CPA license or pursuing licensure
Experience managing multiple client engagements
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience with accounting software and programs such as Lacerte, CFS, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat
Skills:
Strong ability to work under pressure
Strong understanding of accounting practices
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal directions in a high-pressure environment
Ability to work in fast-paced, high growth environment
Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines. Occasional overtime is required throughout the year, and heavy overtime work is required from February 1 through April 15 (busy season) and may be in excess of 55 hours per week.
