Job Summary
UCP of Sacramento and Northern California is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to manage payroll for over 1000 employees across three organizations. Reporting to the CFO, this role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with regulations, and supports audits and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Process semi-monthly payroll for 900+ employees across UCP, Foundation, and MRSI
Maintain and review payroll systems for accuracy and compliance
Handle payroll updates: new hires, terminations, pay changes
Prepare payroll wires, taxes, and retirement contributions (403b/457b)
Generate semi-monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports
Collaborate with HR to maintain accurate employee records
Support internal and external audits
Assist with system upgrades and policy improvements
Provide technical support and train staff as needed
Run month-end reports and assist CFO with financial statements and audits
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma required; associate’s degree in finance/accounting preferred
Experience: 3–5 years of payroll experience preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong verbal and written communication
Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAGE / Paycom software experience preferred
High attention to detail and confidentiality
Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and work collaboratively
10-key by touch
