Accounting Specialist

Description We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our professional services team in Roseville, California. In this role, you will be supporting the engineering and construction management teams with various accounting-related tasks. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, with three days in the office and two days working remotely.For immediate consideration, please contact Shantel Poole directly via LinkedIn or call 916-649-0832.Responsibilities: Facilitate the processing and coding of accounts payable Complete monthly project billing in compliance with client and contract specifications Coordinate with Project Managers regarding billings, contract documents, changes orders, and other contract modifications Set up new projects using accounting software according to contract, client, and project manager direction Handle payroll processing for both office and union field staff, ensuring compliance with union rules, prevailing wage, and certified payroll Oversee expense and credit card reporting, ensuring timely and accurate coding and processing Assist with administering contracts from execution to close out Reconcile variances that occur in the application of cash in coordination with the cash receipts team member Serve as a resource for staff with accounting-related issues or questions for the region Ensure accurate and timely communication with Project Managers regarding billings, contract documents, approvals, and additional services.Requirements Possession of strong skills in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required Prior experience in Billing processes and procedures Familiarity with Certified Payroll practices Knowledge of Prevailing Wage laws and regulations Experience with Deltek software platform is desirable Minimum educational qualification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Capacity to work independently and as part of a team Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work output.
