SCE is a dynamic and forward-thinking company, known for our commitment to innovation and excellence. The main focus of this role will be payroll production of SCE and affiliated companies. You will be exposed to technology, project management, requirement gathering, design, solutions, and you will collaborate and partner with multifunctional departments, including: Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Law, and Information Technology to ensure SCE Payroll follows all Federal, state and local payroll rules and regulations. This key role will research and resolve production problems and work closely to refine technical requirements with collaborators. Serving in this role, you will also lead all aspects of payroll procedures, prepare reports and forecasts for Senior Management. In addition, you will support the SAP payroll solution, participate in the implementation of SAP Employee Central Payroll, and then lead the ongoing maintenance of the system and the integration with other systems and vendors. You will play a vital role within our highly collaborative Payroll team, for SAP Employee Central Payroll, SAP S/4 HANA Payroll, and Time Keeping.As a Payroll Systems Advisor your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Monitor and maintain the system aspects of Corporate Payroll and Expense.

Interact with IT to provide support and guidance on business requirements of payroll processing and how the system can meet those requirements.

Act as liaison for Corporate Payroll Operations issues with systems maintenance and benefits administration personnel.

Analyze and provide recommendations regarding system problems impacting Corporate Payroll and expense.

Responsible for running and monitoring the system and various system output reports during production of weekly, monthly and bi-weekly paychecks.

Represent Corporate Payroll’s interest during upgrade conversions of the payroll system, expense system, and during implementation of new processes.

Collaborate with Corporate Accounting personnel to meet general ledger accounting requirements for payroll posting.

Compliance and Legislation: Stay informed about changes in payroll-related legislation and ensure SAP configurations remain compliant. Work closely with legal and compliance teams to implement vital updates and changes.

Project Support: Help facilitate moderately complex Payroll projects involving systems and/or business processes to obtain business goals and operational objectives with oversight from Payroll management and team members.

Support SAP Payroll Configuration: Help maintain SAP Payroll modules to align with organizational policies and legal requirements.

Collaborate with functional teams to understand payroll business processes and translate them into technical requirements.

Collaborate with subsidiary clients in meeting their payroll needs.

Reporting and Analysis:

Develop and maintain custom reports using SAP reporting tools to meet the evolving needs of the business

Analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement

Perform ad hoc reporting of data extracts originating from the payroll system for analysis purposes and regulatory requirements.

QualificationsThe essentials

Seven (7) or more years of experience working as a Payroll Analyst or similar technical payroll position, responsible for monitoring and maintenance of system aspects of Corporate Payroll and Expense.

Three (3) or more years of experience as a Payroll Analyst in SAP Payroll.

One (1) or more years of experience in Time Management in SAP.

Experience analyzing data or systems and /or utilizing Excel or Access to produce reports or queries.

Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and extended hours with very short notices.

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and as a team member to achieve company and department objectives.

The preferred

Experience in performing Payroll related functions and analyses including labor allocations, bank reconciliation and general ledger processing.

Experience with SAP Payroll.

Data mining and reporting.

Ability to communicate ideas, concepts, and technical data to customers.

Ability to be able to adapt to a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Certified Payroll Professional.

SAP certification in SAP Payroll, SuccessFactors Payroll Control Center, or relevant SAP modules.

Experience with SAP Payroll configuration and integration with other SAP modules.

Experience with SAP SuccessFactors integration.

Experience with SAP Payroll system (Employee Central Payroll and SAP S/4 Hana): including HRSPs, upgrades, maintenance plans, brake-fix ticket resolution, and improvements requests.

Experience working in the utility industry.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, concise content.

Effective, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to know the latest relevant technology and innovation.

Ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced environments and adapt to changing priorities.

You should know

This position’s work mode is hybrid .The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
