Evaluate costs, available resources, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors. Provide expert technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range plant and product engineering planning by carefully analyzing and applying advanced engineering principles. Communicate and coordinate with other technical resources to provide technical recommendations, lessons learned, methods for problem-solving, analysis methodology, etc. to maximize contribution to multiple projects or programs. Conduct analyses and/or tests pertaining to the development of new designs, methods, materials, equipment or processes and completes required documentation by determining required actions, performing or directing completion of tasks and publishing findings and/or results. Compile and analyze operation, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or products. Assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products, or equipment when necessary data are insufficient or conformation by testing is advisable. Investigate, research, and operationalize new technologies in specialty or related areas to improve cost and performance by applying advanced engineering design methods, theories, and research techniques. Apply and lead continuous improvement initiatives through the development of new engineering technology, product development, analytic tools, and key production principles and techniques. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending advanced-level educational workshops, reviewing technical and research publications, and/or participating in professional associations. Consistently apply established engineering practices, standards, and documentation methods. Plan and conduct complex special assignments, generally involving the larger and more important projects or multiple projects. May provide technical leadership to others in integrated product development teams. Share specialized knowledge with others and ensures knowledge transfer on technologies and products. Position requires 5% domestic travel. Remote work permitted within a reasonable commuting distance of the Rohnert Park, California Office. Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field of study and six (6) years of experience as Sr. Electrical Engineer, Tech Lead, Product Engineer, or closely related occupation. Employer will also accept a Master’s degree in the above stated fields and four (4) years of experience in the above stated occupations. Requires at least 4 years of experience in the following: · Mechanical, electronic, packaging, and/or optics engineering principles, theories, concepts, techniques, industry practices, regulations, and policies such as: Inverter Technology, IGBT &SiC Power Semiconductor Devices, Circuit Simulation, PCB Design, Power Optimization, Power Electronics Testing; · Standard business applications software(Microsoft Office Tools) and specialized data analysis(data acquisition & oscilloscope), design(schematic and pcb design), and project management tools(Microsoft Project & Jira); · Power electronics and drives technology; · Advanced control designs such as space vector modulation; · New Product Development, having developed and released at least two products from concept to launch; · Knowledge of emerging product or domain engineering theories such as mechanical, electrical, electronic, packaging, etc., principles, industry practices, concepts, techniques, government regulations, and policies; and · Power electronics design software and specialized data analysis, research methodologies, and engineering design tools.
